When Cygni was started in 2006, it was with a clear vision, we would be the best workplace for ambitious system developers who thrive in the consulting role. This is something we have really succeeded with, we have been the Best Workplace in both Sweden and Europe for many years.
Over the years, we have tried to constantly improve the company – grow in the right way, create conditions for the consultants’ competence development, and find fun customers where our consultants can evolve.
But most important of all is the work culture we have built – inclusive, fair, listening, full of humor, but above all to have fun. We try to be nice to each other, our customers, suppliers, the environment – nice to everything and everyone!
Change is something that many may find difficult, perhaps even unpleasant. But change is a necessity to be able to evolve together, to be able to become even better. We have always tried to change and improve the company together – otherwise you are simply not best in class. Every major decision we have made, and every major change that has been implemented, has taken place in the light of the fact that it will be better for everyone at Cygni.
The first big change we made was to go from one group and split the company into two consulting groups in 2008. Today we are used to creating new consulting groups but at that time it was a real change for all of us, and it laid the foundation for how we could grow over time with new consulting groups and consulting managers. We learned many important things that still hold true today; each group must have a consulting manager who provides the consultants with service, the consultants may choose their own manager, the groups must be “reasonably” small so that the managers have time to take care of the consultants.
The next really big change came in 2016 when we opened the first office outside Stockholm. Once again, we focused on making everything better than it was before, in this case we as a company got even greater breadth, more fantastic colleagues, access to more customers, and the opportunity to work in several locations. We have continued to have new offices with more fine colleagues over the years and at Cygni we are proud of how well we have succeeded with that – the atmosphere here is fantastic, and the collaboration between the offices is completely seamless.
Another huge change was when we started your office in Amsterdam. This was a big milestone for us, and in Amsterdam we have also found top talent!
Now it's time to take the next step, and as usual do with the same mantra – we want Cygni to be even better. Today we can proudly announce that Cygni will be part of Accenture. In order for an acquisition like this to happen, there are of course many things that must be in place. An example is that Cygni may continue to be – well – Cygni. And that's how it will be. But we will grow together with Accenture!
We will continue to work with our customers, but Accenture gives us access to many more customers than we have today, customers that we finally get the chance to work with. In addition, the internal career opportunities for our consultants will of course be much greater. Now that we are part of Accenture, there is an opportunity to work with other roles than we can offer today.
